After filling the stomach we were on the way to witness the famous site for dinosaur paleontology including the first nest of dinosaur egg and other fossils discovered by paleontologist Roy Chapman Andrews in the 1920s.

Bayanzag is also better known to the west as “The Flaming Cliffs” due to the orange rocks and red sand surrounding the site giving it a fiery facade.

  • Stretching

The ride to the site takes a few hours and we decided to stop at a small town for a toilet break and do some stretching.

  • Finally Found

After research, we finally found a public toilet.

It was an unforgettable experience.

Should have taken some pictures to show, anyway it was a hole dug into the soil as deep as 3 meters deep.

Just imagine if you Mongolia adventure trip and fall.

  • Probably Hold

We finish our work as quickly as possible, and maybe hold my breath all the time.

  • Mongolian Kids

On the way back to the little mini market, we saw a few Mongolian children play halfway and decided to be Santa Claus.

  • Soft Toys and Candies

We brought many soft toys, candies, and stationery with us after some read up from a forum.

  • Overjoyed

The kids were overjoyed and so were we.

  • Slightest Affairs

Those children’s simplicity and content to the slightest affairs were a valuable lesson to me, perhaps when you have less; everything that comes along is a gift.

  • Saxaul Forest

When all children receive their little gifts, we bid them farewell and complete our journey. Reaching the site, 3 eagles greeted us on the saxaul forest.

  • Saxaul Trees

Honestly, the saxaul forest doesn’t quite excite me more than the 3 eagles I was a bit lost when Alimaa our guide tries to explain the saxaul trees to us.

  • Camel Riding

I was more deeply lure by the surrounding backdrop, a group of tourists riding a camel on Mongolia adventure travel on the plain with beautiful diverse shadows from the clouds casting on it.

  • Simply Surreal

The sight was simply surreal, like in a movie scene in Mongolia.

  • Mongolian Archaeological

The famous Mongolian archaeological site was up next, but sad to say we only view it from a distance.

  • Standard Tour

I am not sure whether we are not allowed to explore the site or that is just the standard Mongolia tour package we get.

  • Souvenir Store

I did, however, get a few good shots of the site and we manage to get hold of some beautiful souvenir from the only souvenir store there.

  • Do Shopping

Once we finish our ‘shopping’ in the local markets of Mongolia, we headed back for our late lunch.

  • Beautiful Views and Sighting City

The journey usually covers long distances and along with it are many beautiful views and sighting city dwellers like me never have the chance to lay eyes on.

  • Part of the Trip

Many surprises, both good and bad were also part and parcel of the trip.

  • Super Enthusiastic Guide

We were stopped abruptly by our super enthusiastic guide Alimaa pointing to a mirage in the desert and insist I snap a few shots of it.

  • New SLR Camera

It was definitely an opportunity I will never miss, especially with a new SLR camera I bought for the trip.

  • Little Lamb

Almost reaching the camp, we were again stopped by a little lamb out in the desert.

  • Own Devices

It was barely a few days old, probably lost from the herd. Alima said it will die if left on its own devices.

  • No Scheduled Itinerary

After leaving reluctantly, we stop again and decided to help the little lamb find its owner as we have no scheduled itinerary.

  • Horse and Happily Approach

We finally came across a mulish herdsman on a horse and happily approach him, but he simply refuses to accept as the lamb does not belong to him.

  • Lamb Back to the Camp

We finally bought a little lamb to the camp with us, and guess what; he does not even know how to drink from a bowl.

  • Camp Staff

Helpful camp staffs improvise the bottle to the milk bottle and let it suck some milk into it.

  • Truly Eventful Day Coupled

When the little lamb settled, we got a break, an eventful day paired with many mysterious thoughts.
